Indigo Lavender Farms was verified under the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program ( MAEAP ) in 2018 and the verification is valid for five years. In order to maintain MAEAP verification, we are required to review the appropriate risk assessment with our local conservation district technician and undergo regular site visits. We are extremely proud of our MAEAP Cropping System Verification!
Indigo Lavender Farms lavender is provisionally certified by Certified Naturally Grown (CNG). Our Apiaries are fully certified as of February 2019! Certified Naturally Grown farmers don't use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicide, or GMOs, just like certified organic farmers. The main difference between CNG and organic is the certification model, which relies on peer inspections, transparency, and direct relationships. We are fully certified on our honey and will be fully certified on our lavender by the end of 2021!
Indigo Lavender Farms participates in DTE Energy's MIGreenPower program. Through our enrollment, we are matching 20% of our energy use to DTE's wind farms and solar parks. This investment in renewable energy is helping to protect the environment and create a cleaner Michigan for all of us.
